Branding Session

Ashley Holland is a personal stylist who is just busting out on her own and needed images for her website and social media. Her service is very personal and she usually comes to her clients homes so we wanted a home like setting.

After searching on Peerspace and Splacer we found Studio918. A 2,000 square foot home in the south Oak Cliff area of Dallas owned by Bethany & Tarun. Bethany is a photographer herself and they rent out their home to other photographers. So nice of them to share the wonderful light that is in there.

I met with Ashley about a week before the session to brainstorm a shot list and props. Ashley had a couple of Pinterest mood boards and photos of shots similar to the ones she wanted to be sure to get. Doing all this before the session is so helpful because your mind is going in a thousand different directions on shoot days and it’s good to have something to go by so that you don’t forget a shot you really wanted to get. Of course I’m always open to new ideas on the days of the session too.

Ashley also had a client that was ready and willing to let us photograph in his home and use him as a model too. That gave us a lot of variety and a chance to show what working with Ashley is like. And the light in his home was fabulous too.

Ashley loved her images! In her email to me she said: “Thank you again for all your help and making me feel so comfortable in an uncomfortable situation for me. Can’t wait to work with you again!”

And heres a testament to the power of having imagery for your business. I posted a photo from this session to my social media and one of my followers wanted Ashleys information because she was looking for a stylist for a few execs she works with. Boom.
